Laser and Aesthetic Services

The laser and aesthetic procedures currently performed by MAC are:

MiXto SX CO2 Fractional Laser Treatment

MiXto SX Fractional CO2 laser can be used to smooth out lines, wrinkles and scars, remove brown spots and other irregularities, and to tighten the skin. With fractional laser treatment, only a fraction of the skin’s surface is treated by the laser, leaving ample islands of untouched skin. This technique makes the healing process much faster and enables a patient to get back to normal activities sooner.

Filler Injection / Sculptra (Poly-L-lactic acid)

Fillers are purified substances injected into skin to improve the appearance of deep lines, provide fullness or correct depressed scars. Sculptra is a semi-permanent filler composed of polylactic acid which is used to treat facial lipoatrophy and restoration of facial contours and a youthful appearance.

Botulinum Toxin

Botulinum toxin is a purified protein injection to cause temporary weakening of the muscle. It is used to reduce dynamic wrinkles such frown lines, crow's feet as well as excessive sweatiness of the underarms.

Carbon Dioxide Laser Treatment

This can be used to precisely remove unwanted skin growths such as syringomas and to resurface scars and wrinkles.

Cellular Grafting for Vitiligo

Non-cultured cellular grafting is an innovative surgical technique that transplants an individual’s own pigment cells onto his / her vitiligo patches, without the need of growing the cells in the laboratory. This transplantation technique can achieve good to excellent return of skin colour.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peeling may improve skin texture as well as mild acne, superficial wrinkles and scars.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

A broad band light source which can be used to treat certain pigmented and red skin lesions such as. freckles, age spots, melasma and facial redness.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is a safe, relatively painless and effective way of removing unwanted hair. The long-pulsed Nd-YAG laser is safe for use in darker Asian skin colour types.

Mole Removal

There are different types of moles and method of removal varies. Moles can be removed either by surgery or by laser treatment.

PicoSure™ (Cynosure) laser

PicoSure™ (Cynosure) is a pigment laser that treats superficial pigmentation such as freckles and lentigines; deeper pigmentation such as Hori’s and Ota Naevus as well as green, sky-blue and black tattoos. This new laser system operates in the ultra-short picosecond domain and complements NSC’s existing lasers and light devices (e.g. Q-switched Nd:YAG laser, intense-pulsed light device) in the treatment of pigmented lesions. In the fractionated mode, this laser allows for non-ablative skin rejuvenation and acne scar treatment. Unwanted pigmentation that fails to respond adequately to the standard Q-switched nanosecond pigment laser may show further improvement with the PicoSure.

Pigment Laser Treatment

Q-switched Pigment lasers can be used to treat freckles, age spots, Hori's naevus, tattoos, and certain birthmarks such as naevus of Ota and café-au-lait macules.

Pulsed Dye Laser Treatment

The pulsed dye laser such as the V-Beam is used to treat vascular skin lesions such as portwine stains, superficial haemangiomas, fine facial and leg veins and to reduce hypertrophic scars and redness in young scars.

Smoothbeam Diode Laser Treatment

The Smoothbeam diode laser has been developed to directly stimulate collagen synthesis without damaging the outermost layer of skin. It is used to treat mild to moderate acne scars and fine wrinkles.

V Beam Laser Treatment

There are many types of birthmarks. Many are due to abnormal growth of blood vessels, pigment cells/ pigment production or other cells. Not all birthmarks are benign; some may be associated with abnormalities in other organs, or may be precancerous. The treatment depends on the type of birthmark.

The V Beam laser can be used to treat portwine stains, infantile haemangiomas, telangiectasias and hypertrophic scars.

Revlite® Q-Switched Nd Yag Laser

RevLite® from HOYA ConBio® is the latest generation of Q-switched laser technology for the treatment of tattoos and facial pigmentation on all skin types. Featuring PhotoAcoustic Technology Pulse®, the RevLite® delivers very narrow pulse widths at peak energy, even at larger spot sizes. The RevLite® beam profile is a flat-top, smooth, evenly-calibrated beam without uneven spikes of energy typical in other lasers. As a result, the energy is delivered in extremely even pulse widths, targeting tattoos and deeper pigmentation with accuracy and efficiency, minimizing any damage to the epidermis.

SmartXide2 Laser - 2011

The SmartXide2 laser is a newly-released Fractional CO2 laser device from DEKA. This laser system employs several features to optimize treatment outcomes whilst enhancing patient safety.
