WELCOME MESSAGE

It gives me great pleasure to invite you to the NSC Update in Dermatology & Venereology 2021, 7 to 9 October, organised by the National Skin Centre.  NSC Update 2021, is the 12th edition of a CPD event where NSC faculty will share their collective experience and expertise to specialists, physicians and other healthcare professionals who are involved in dermatology care of patients.  This year, in the light of ongoing pandemic situation, we will be bringing this to you in a virtual conference. Indeed, in the virtual sphere, this brings greater opportunities in doing more for content and speakers.  In this respect, the NSC Update 2021 is held in conjunction with the Asian Society of Dermatopathology Annual Meeting 8 -9 October 2021, also hosted by NSC, which will feature its slate of world renowned speakers and experts in the field.

The NSC Update will cover a breadth of topics in dermatology, providing “something for everyone”, bringing updates in the respective fields to keep us abreast of the advances in dermatology care and practice.  The symposia will cover inpatient dermatology, sexually transmitted infections, skin cancer, team-based dermatology care, cutaneous allergy and drug testing, dermatosurgery and aesthetic dermatology.  There will be 2 pre-conference workshops on phototherapy and atopic dermatitis, which will be hosted by experienced professionals in these practice areas.  The presentations will highlight practical approaches to clinical problems, and will feature overviews on current and future directions of major areas in dermatology and venereology.  In addition, our partners in research, Kenji Kabashima, Keith Harding and John Common will also be joining our internal faculty to break new frontiers in dermatology research.  This year, we are honoured to have Professor Joseph Sung, Dean of Lee Kong Chian Medical School and Senior Vice President (Health & Life Sciences) of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, deliver the NSC Lecture during the conference.

We look forward to welcoming you at the NSC Update 2021 virtually.  We are confident that it will be a stimulating and enriching 3 days that you can choose to spend with us, wherever you may be!
