​Clinical Research Study Recruitment

As the national tertiary academic centre for dermatological diseases in Singapore, National Skin Centre (NSC) is committed to high quality, clinically relevant research to advance dermatological knowledge and impact clinical services. Medical research is essential to gain a further understanding of these diseases and effective ways of treatment and prevention. Thus, we would like to call out to volunteers to take part in our research studies. There may or may not be direct benefit to you from the participation. However, your participation will add to the medical knowledge which will eventually benefit the human population.

Following are the research studies available for participation:

Research study on antibodies in patients with immunobullous and blistering skin diseases

·        Aged above 21 years old

·        Patients with clinical diagnosis of immunobullous skin diseases (e.g. naturally occurring blisters on the skin)

·        Willing to donate blood

   

Research study on the effects of phototherapy treatment in atopic dermatitis

·        Aged above 18 years old

·        Patients with a clinical diagnosis of atopic dermatitis

·        Willing and able to commit to phototherapy twice weekly for at least 12 weeks

·        Have not been on phototherapy for at least the past 3 months

·        Experienced poor response to topical therapy and/or oral antihistamines

 

Research study on the transcriptome comparison of old versus young skin of Singapore female Chinese population ​

·            Aged between 21 to 30 years or 60 years or greater

·         Chinese female who are healthy, non-smoker and have no known skin problems

·        Willing to donate blood and skin tissue and visit the National Skin Centre on 3 occasions

·        Participants in the study will receive reimbursement for time and travel

 

Research study on Systemic Scler​osis

·         Aged between 21 years and above with Systemic Sclerosis

·         Looking for healthy volunteers aged above 21 years old as well

·         Willing to donate blood and skin tissue and visit the National Skin Centre on 2 occasions

·         Participants in the study will receive reimbursement for time and travel
